For this week’s assignment you just need to select and propose two possible communication topics you might like to research for your paper. You only have to write your paper on ONE of these two topics. For the proposal you need to find an academic article for each possible topic from either the Carrington Online LibraryLinks to an external site. or Google Scholar that discusses your topics of choice and provide an APA citation of the article(s). Then 1) describe why this topic interests you and 2) how you might apply or use it in your chosen field of work and/or what problems it might solve or prevent.

Some possible communication topics include: The perception process, Interpersonal attributions, The nature of language, Nonverbal communication, The listening process, Obstacles to effective listening, Communication and Emotions, or Conflict: Definition, values, and styles.

SOLUTION

Regarding obstacles to effective listening, I think this topic is highly relevant in the contemporary global setting in the communication aspect. Listening is an integral part of the communication process as it allows for the conveyance and reception of the intended pieces of information. In my field of work, I will apply effective listening by hearing out my patients, keeping a keen detail on their health problems and any inquiries they could have.
