2. Think about your approach to performing a comprehensive nursing history and assessment. How well do you think your current approach meets clients’ needs from diverse cultural backgrounds?
3. Reflect on the Andrews and Boyle Transcultural Nursing Assessment Guide for Individuals and Families discussed in the lesson. Have you ever used this guide when performing a nursing assessment?
4. Reflect on your experience in clinical practice caring for people from different cultures who communicate in another language. Have you used a medical interpreter before? If so, was the experience positive? If not, what could have improved the experience? If you do not have experience with diverse client groups, describe the resources in your organization (or lack thereof) to assist with language barriers.
